Activists knock PacifiCorp, NW Natural on clean energy

The investor-owned utilities that power, heat and cool Multnomah County homes and businesses touted their clean energy progress at a commissioners meeting Tuesday. Activists urged Portland General Electric, PacifiCorp and NW Natural to move faster but had especially pointed remarks for the latter two.

County commissioners met to explore movement toward 100 percent clean-energy goals adopted in 2017 — for community-wide electricity by 2035 and for all energy by 2050.
