AK Steel eliminating 260 jobs in plant closure

One of the Dayton region’s largest employers is moving forward with an out-of-state plant closure.

AK Steel Holding Corp. notified the state of Kentucky this week in a WARN notice that it will eliminate 260 jobs in the closure of AK Steel -Ashland Works.

The Dayton Business Journal reported earlier this year the closure of the Ashland, Kentucky plant was expected by the end of 2019, but at the time it was only expected to affect 230 jobs.
