Appalachian Regional Commission awards $8M in grants to communities impacted by loss of coal jobs

Gov. Tom Wolf announced Thursday that Pennsylvania had received more than $8 million in funding from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) for projects in counties affected by job losses in coal mining, coal power or the coal supply chain. Of the 10 projects, five were located in the Pittsburgh region, and the group received about $3 million in funding.
