The average price for a gallon of gasoline continued to march upward over the past week, with San Jose posting the biggest increases in the San Francisco Bay Area, according to an analysis by GasBuddy.
In a survey of 427 gas stations in San Jose, GasBuddy found that prices rose by 16.7 cents on average to hit $6.37 a gallon. That price is $1.04 a gallon higher than it was a month ago and $1.89 higher than this time last year.
