Big businesses weigh in against PGE renewables

A group of big businesses is objecting to a Portland General Electric plan to acquire new renewable energy resources — beyond a wind, solar and energy-storage project already in the works — by 2023.

In a filing with the Public Utility Commission, the Alliance of Western Energy Consumers argues that PGE doesn’t need the new renewables to meet Oregon’s clean-energy mandate.
