BP CEO to retire, successor named

London-based BP PLC (NYSE: BP), which has its U.S. headquarters in Houston, has named a new group CEO.

Bob Dudley, 64, will step down from the role and from the BP board after the company’s 2019 full-year results are released Feb. 4, 2020, and will retire March 31, according to a press release. Dudley has been group CEO since October 2010, taking over amid the aftermath of the Deepwater Horizon disaster of April 2010.
