The Bonneville Power Administration has found another investor-owned utility to sell surplus hydropower to as it looks to firm up its finances.
The federal agency, headquartered in Portland, on Friday announced a five-year contract with Puget Sound Energy to provide the utility up to 100 megawatts of emissions-free power beginning in 2022.
BPA is set to begin selling up to 200 megawatts to Portland General Electric next year under an agreement reached in 2018.
