Broad Reach Power to spend $100M on battery projects in Williamson, Mason counties

Houston-based Broad Reach Power LLC started construction on two battery facilities in Central Texas on Sept. 15.

Broad Reach plans to spend more than $100 million on the two projects combined, according to an announcement. Each project will build a 100-megawatt battery facility in Texas — one each in Mason and Williamson counties.

The Williamson County project is off State Highway 29 just east of Liberty Hill, about 30 miles north of downtown Austin, according to a spokeswoman for Broad Reach.
