Colorado firm makes deal to buy NC solar projects, including in Johnston County

A Denver, Colorado-based solar company has closed a deal to buy eight grandfathered solar projects in North Carolina. That marks its second large purchase in the state since regulators and utilities have resolved issues around grid connections for solar projects.

SolRiver Capital will build and operate 53 megawatts worth of projects in the state developed originally by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners.

SolRiver has not disclosed the purchase price of the deal. But it said it expects to invest…
