Constellation acquires some of New York energy company’s retail assets

Constellation has acquired Agera Energy, a Briarcliff Manor, New York, company that filed for bankruptcy last month.

Agera serves about 70,000 customers in 16 states and the deal will allow Constellation scale its retail business in a number of competitive markets, Constellation said in a release. Agera filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in October and entered into a purchase agreement with Constellation. Financial terms of the deal, announced Thursday, were not disclosed.
