CPS board adopts city’s climate action plan

CPS Energy’s board of trustees voted Monday afternoon to adopt the city’s climate action and adaptation plan, with trustee Ed Kelley calling the plan’s inevitable passage “a fact of life.”

The vote was unanimous, although Kelley said he wasn’t a fan of the plan.

“To be honest, it’s like spitting in the ocean,” said Kelley, the former CEO of USAA Real Estate. Climate change is a global problem, and he doesn’t see how cities can solve it, he said.
