Whiting Petroleum Corp. has laid off 16% of its workforce, cutting about 70 positions at its downtown Denver headquarters two weeks after it emerged from bankruptcy.
The workforce reduction includes eliminating about eight field positions, but 90% of the jobs cut came from Whiting’s headquarters, including several corporate officer positions, the company said.
