Duke Energy Carolinas looks to speed up fuel savings for customers

Duke Energy Carolinas proposes cutting its customer fuel charge more deeply than originally planned by using first-quarter results to reduce rates by about 3% overall in September.

The revised proposal would cut a typical residential customer’s average monthly bill by $3.03 starting Sept. 1. The company has asked regulators permission to do that by implementing savings that would not normally have shown up for customers until next year.
