The city and county of Durham asked solar developers for information on up to 30 megawatts of new solar capacity that could be built for the governments under Duke Energy Corp.’s Green Source Advantage program.
The request was issued last Thursday and indicates that the governments are just in the early stages of the effort. If the project or projects meet Duke application requirements, it would essentially close out the 250 megawatts worth of solar available under the program for general customers.
