Electrify America signs up with SMUD to cut peak power costs

The Sacramento Municipal Utility District has unveiled its new StorageShares grid-based battery storage program, and its first customer is Electrify America.

Electrify America is investing $1.3 million in the SMUD program, in which companies invest in SMUD’s grid battery system, and in return get lower energy costs during peak price periods.
