Equinor sells Eagle Ford position for hundreds of millions of dollars

Norway-based Equinor ASA (NYSE: EQNR), formerly Statoil, reached a deal with Spanish oil company Repsol SE (BME: REP) to sell its interest in the Eagle Ford upstream for $325 million. Both companies have major footprints in Houston.

Prior to the deal, Repsol already owned 37 percent of the 69,000-acre Eagle Ford portfolio, and the acquisition gives the company full ownership, according to press releases from both companies. It’s expected to increase Repsol’s Eagle Ford production to 54,000 barrels…
