Former chief exec of Duke Energy, Progress takes CEO job at bankrupt PG&E

PG&E Corp. has hired former Progress Energy Inc. CEO Bill Johnson as its chief executive as part of “significant changes in leadership” as the California-based power company heads into Chapter 11 restructuring.

Johnson, who is completing more than six years as head of the Tennessee Valley Authority, notably served as CEO of Duke Energy Corp. for a few hours in July 2012 immediately following Duke’s $17.8 billion purchase of Progress.
