Frac sand fraudster sentenced to 6 years in prison

A San Antonio man who operated a frac sand transportation company will spend the next six years in prison after a judge sentenced him for cheating investors out of $3.6 million.

Reynaldo Jesus Peralez, who goes by Sonny, pleaded guilty in April to pretending to have contracts with oilfield service companies in the Permian Basin when he and his company, Bohannon Oil Services LLC, had no such contracts.
