Methodology: Information on The List was obtained from the Texas Railroad Commission’s oil and gas production database and was pulled on Jan. 4. Operators that produced natural gas onshore between January and December 2021 were included. Only companies that listed a North Texas address in the Railroad Commission’s oil and gas directory are included. The number of cubic feet of gas was converted from the industry-standard measurement of MCF, which counts natural gas per 1,000 cubic feet.
