Georgia energy and gas companies suspend service disconnections during coronavirus outbreak

As the coronavirus spreads in Georgia and the metro Atlanta area, Georgia Power, a subsidiary of The Southern Company (NYSE: SO), and Atlanta Gas Light, a subsidiary of Southern Company Gas, will suspend service disconnections for non-payment. 

Georgia Power announced it will refrain from cutting off service for 30 days, while Atlanta Gas Light will cease for seven days, both beginning on Saturday, March 14.
