Georgia PSC OKs delay in review of Plant Vogtle costs

Georgia energy regulators have agreed to delay the next semi-annual update on costs associated with the nuclear expansion at Plant Vogtle.

The state Public Service Commission (PSC) voted 4-1 Tuesday in favor of a staff recommendation that cited the agency’s busy 2019 schedule in asking for the delay. Essentially, the decision means the PSC will take up the next two semi-annual reports from Georgia Power Co., the majority partner in the $27.5 billion project, at the same time in six months.
