JEA Board challenges recovery strategy for Brooklyn and Geneva Lakes

The JEA Board passed a resolution Tuesday challenging the St. Johns River Water Management District’s flow level strategies for Brooklyn and Geneva Lakes.

The challenge comes after Water Management District approved a recovery strategy on April 13 for the lakes because of lower water levels in both lakes.

JEA is opposed to the plan because it believes that it would have to pay too much for the recovery plan and may have the amount of water it is allowed to take from the aquifer reduced. Under…
