JEA to roll out rate-changing pilot program

JEA’s latest pilot program seeks to answer one question: Can rate incentives reduce peak demand?

The energy authority will begin a randomized, 5,000-person pilot program this summer to explore if demand-based rates – rates that include surge pricing during peak hours – will change the way customers use their appliances.
