Kelvin Taketa to step down from Hawaiian Electric Industries board

Kelvin Taketa, who has been a director on the Hawaiian Electric Industries board for 25 years, will step down in May.

Taketa, 65,who was president and CEO of the Hawaii Community Foundation until two years ago, will not stand for re-election at the Hawaiian Electric Industries (NYSE: HE) annual meeting on May 7, according to a letter from board Chairman Jeff Watanabe in the company’s proxy statement released last week. Taketa is also currently a director on the board of Hawaiian Electric Co.
