A major ammonia plant in Texas City is slated to start construction in early 2020 now that a project financing deal has closed.
The Gulf Coast Ammonia LLC facility will have the capacity to produce about 1.3 million tons of ammonia per year and will be the world’s largest single-train ammonia synthesis loop, according to a Jan. 8 press release from GCA. Commissioning is expected in the first half of 2023.
