NC orders Duke Energy to excavate coal ash at six plants, including in Triad

N.C. environmental regulators have rejected Duke Energy Corp. (NYSE: DUK) proposals to close ash basins at six coal plants by capping them in place and ordered its utilities to excavate the ash and rebury it in lined landfills.
