North Alabama executive nominated to TVA board

A North Alabama business leader has been nominated to serve on the board of directors for the Tennessee Valley Authority.

Rick Roden, president and CEO of the Mountain Lakes Chamber of Commerce in Scottsboro, was nominated by President Donald Trump to fill the vacant position of James Thompson III of Decatur, which expires May 18.

Thompson was removed from the board in August.

According to AL.com, Roden confirmed the nomination Monday. The move now must be approved by the U.S. Senate.
