Ohio corporation acquires Alabama coal assets

Some Alabama coal mining properties will now be owned by an Ohio-based energy company.

Murray Energy Corp. said it was the successful bidder for Oak Grove and Seminole Alabama coal properties, which were formerly held by Mission Coal Co. before its bankruptcy proceedings. Murray also acquired Mission’s Maple Eagle Mining in West Virginia.
