Oregon says no to Jordan Cove LNG ahead of federal decision

With a federal decision on Jordan Cove expected Thursday, Oregon on Wednesday emphatically declared the controversial liquefied natural gas project cannot go forward.

In a letter to developer Pembina Pipeline Corp., the Department of Land Conservation and Development cited several failures to “establish consistency with specific enforceable policies,” including the denial of a water quality permit and the project’s withdrawal of a removal-fill permit.
