Pacific Ethanol changes name to Alto Ingredients to reflect restructuring

Pacific Ethanol Inc. is changing its name to Alto Ingredients Inc. to reflect its move into more products than ethanol and parts of the country that are not on the Pacific Coast.

The name change is official this week, and the company will change its ticker symbol on the Nasdaq exchange from PEIX to ALTO in February, Chief Financial Officer Bryon McGregor told the Business Journal.

“The new name better reflects the direction of the company,” McGregor said.
