PG&E CEO Bill Johnson announces retirement

The CEO of embattled and bankrupt PG&E Corporation has announced that he will step down this summer.

Bill Johnson will retire on June 30, the company announced Wednesday morning, the same date the utility has set as a deadline to emerge from bankruptcy court with a reorganization plan. He will remain on the board until June but will begin transitioning out of the position in May.
