PG&E pleads guilty to 85 felonies

Pacific Gas and Electric pleaded guilty Tuesday to 85 felonies tied to the company’s role in starting the deadly Camp Fire in 2018.

PG&E (NYSE: PCG) entered its plea in Butte County Superior Court as part of an agreement the utility reached in March with the Butte County District Attorney. PG&E formally pleaded guilty to 84 counts of involuntary manslaughter and one count of unlawfully starting a fire.
