PG&E requests rate hike for commercial electricity, natural gas

Commercial energy customers could see an increase in rates, starting in 2023, under a proposal submitted to the California Public Utilities Commission by Pacific Gas & Electric Co. to help pay to make its system safer and more reliable.

On Wednesday, PG&E Corp. (NYSE: PCG) submitted a proposal to state energy regulators for a rate increase totaling $3.6 billion starting in 2023. The PUC can approve all of, a portion, or none of the request.
