Phoenix declares ‘stage one’ water alert, activates drought management plan

The city of Phoenix declared a “stage one” water alert and enacted the first step of its drought management plan this week due to the ongoing shortage of Colorado River water.

According to the city, a stage one alert occurs when an insufficient supply of water appears likely due to water system or supply limitations.
