PNM puts out RFPs for hundreds of megawatts of reliable power

Public Service Co. of New Mexico (PNM) on Monday put out two request for proposals (RFP) seeking 700 megawatts in reliable power capacity from prospective energy developers.

The two proposals focus on electric demand “to serve PNM’s forecasted economic development load growth needs by and before” June 2022 and 2023, according to a news release.

PNM spokesman Ray Sandoval said the two proposals are considered “all source,” meaning that PNM isn’t just looking at solar or wind.
