Power and water shutoffs, evictions won’t happen in Baltimore amid virus outbreak

Baltimore utilities and housing agencies have no plans to shut off access to water or power or issue any evictions as the globally spreading COVID-19 virus continues to make its way through Maryland.

Baltimore Gas and Electric announced today that it is suspending service disconnections and waiving late charges for bills “at least until May 1” due to the disease, declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization earlier this week.
