RI energy commissioner Nick Ucci to step down

Nicholas S. Ucci, a longtime advocate for clean energy, will step down as commissioner of the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources on July 23. 

Today’s announcement from Gov. Dan McKee comes days after the governor signed legislation requiring that Rhode Island procure all electricity from clean-generation sources by 2033.

Ucci was appointed in 2010 by former Gov. Gina Raimondo, who promoted him from the role of deputy commissioner, a post he held since 2013. The OER is the state’s lead agency…
