Roseville is considering replacing its fleet of diesel commuter buses with electric versions as part of a move to meet state-mandated zero-carbon initiatives.
The five California-built buses would cost $4.8 million, but that would be paid by state, local and federal sources with no money from the city.
The new electric commuter fleet would replace diesel buses the city has had since 2000, though they have been refurbished, said Alison Winter, alternative transportation analyst with the city.
