Mayor Liccardo and some members of the San Jose City Council today announced a proposal that would require new single-family homes to be all-electric, among other energy requirements. If the proposal is approved later today, San Jose would become the largest city in the U.S. to require the construction of all-electric buildings. The proposal would prohibit natural gas in new single-family and low-rise residential homes.
