South Bay braces for PG&E power shutoff set to begin around noon

Starting at noon on Wednesday, as many as 200,000 PG&E customers in certain San Jose neighborhoods could find their electricity turned off as power officials try to prevent wildfires that they fear will happen because of severe wind that’s projected to hit the area later this week.

San Jose isn’t alone in this action. As many as 800,000 PG&E customers throughout the Bay Area could be without power for several days this week.
