Railroad Commission of Texas Commissioner Ryan Sitton will propose a 20% cut in oil production in the Lone Star State and put it up for a vote next week.
Sitton was prepared to vote earlier this month to limit oil production in Texas but the other two commissioners were hesitant, saying they wanted their staff to research the issue further. The Railroad Commission hasn’t put production limits — known as proration — into effect since the early 1970s.
