San Antonio-based Valero Energy Corp. is in discussion to build the company’s second renewable diesel plant in partnership with Darling Ingredients Inc.
Valero [NYSE: VLO] said demand for the product is growing as countries adopt more low-carbon initiatives. Renewable diesel is made from biomass like animal fats and cooking oils and is said to burn cleaner than fossil fuel-based diesel.
