Viewpoint: Issue 7 threatens Columbus city services, economic development

The Nov. 2 ballot in Columbus includes Issue 7, an initiative that contains phrases like “clean energy” and “energy efficiency.”

Issue 7 would strip $87 million out of the General Fund and transfer a large portion to a for-profit company’s control – $67 million would have no oversight from elected officials or residents. There is no evidence that this initiative would do anything to promote clean energy.
