Vigor-built wave device ready for trip to Hawaii

A Portland-built 850-ton wave power device is set to be towed to Hawaii, a step forward for the nascent form of renewable energy and Oregon’s hopes of profiting from it.

Vigor invited dignitaries and media out to its Swan Island shipyard Thursday to celebrate the impending departure of the OE 35 Buoy, bound for a test center in Hawaii.
