Virginia company to bring wind power to Rivian’s electric truck factory

Rivian Automotive Inc., the buzzy electric truck company, is getting a wind turbine at its manufacturing plant thanks to a Virginia company.

The electric vehicle maker, which is based in Irvine, California, said Friday it is partnering with Charlottesville’s Apex Clean Energy Inc. to build a 500-foot turbine at its plant in Normal, Illinois.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
