WEC Energy electric utility wins state approval for two solar projects

One of WEC Energy Group’s Wisconsin electric utility companies won a state endorsement Thursday for two utility-scale solar electric generation projects that will more than quadruple the state’s solar capacity.

Milwaukee-based WEC Energy owns Wisconsin Public Service Corp. of Green Bay, which plans to partner with Madison Gas & Electric Co. on running the projects in Iowa and Manitowoc counties. Wisconsin Public Service Corp. estimates it will spend $260 million for its portion of the two projects…
