Xcel Energy Inc. customers could see lower rates through a proposed customer benefit plan.
Taking advantage of lower than expected fuel costs, Xcel wants to give customers a $25 million credit on their rates this summer, according to a press release issued Friday. Low natural gas prices have also led to reduced use of coal-fired generation in recent months, keeping bills low for customers while also reducing emissions.
