Xcel Energy sending MN workers to help restoration efforts in Florida; Cargill closes plants

Xcel Energy Inc. is trying to help as millions of Florida homes are without power due to damage left by Hurricane Ian.

The Minneapolis-based energy provider is sending approximately 270 contract workers, including some from Minnesota, to aid in restoration efforts. The team from Minnesota is joining other Xcel workers from Colorado, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Dakota, South Dakota, New Mexico and Texas.
