B.R. Brown, who ran Consol and negotiated coal industry contracts, dies at 87

B.R. “Bobby” Brown, the former longtime CEO of Consol Energy Inc. who The New York Times once called “a tough oil man in coal” during his negotiations with labor, died Nov. 7. He was 87.

Brown died at his home in Tyler, Texas, confirmed Tom Hoffman, a retired Consol executive and Brown’s spokesman for many years. The memorial service will be private, Hoffman said.
