Maryland’s utility regulatory agency has approved a multi-year rate plan for Baltimore Gas & Electric Co. that will keep rates flat next year but includes increases in 2022 and 2023.
The Public Service Commission’s order issued late Wednesday represents a partial approval of BGE’s request in May. The company sought to keep rates flat in 2021 and 2022 to help customers weather the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. BGE’s proposal would have hiked electric and gas rates in 2023.
